Suburban Hub
Suburban Hub
Project Description:
A suburban area in Perth, Western Australia, is home to over 90,000 residents and stands as one of the region’s fastest-growing communities. The area features a blend of retail and business districts set within a picturesque natural landscape. As a key economic center in southeastern Perth, the suburb focuses on sustainability, community engagement, strategic planning, and diverse service offerings.
Project Summary:
The local government of the suburban hub appointed Arnowa to establish the necessary hardware, connectivity, and analytics foundation to ensure scalability for monitoring, automation, and energy efficiency. Initially, the project aims to improve the energy efficiency of the city’s assets and public spaces while providing insights into Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions. The project is designed to expand into real-time water and environmental monitoring, asset health, space optimization, remote control, and automation. Arnowa’s advanced analytics platform delivers actionable insights with customized reporting, automated billing, AI-driven solutions, and seamless third-party integration.
Challenges:
- Weak monitoring, reporting, and verification system
- Lack of an integrated network
- Concerns around scalability and agility
- Enhancing community engagement
- Strengthening partnerships to support resource efficiencies
Objective:
To improve resource management and energy efficiency through real-time data and smart solutions, while minimizing environmental impact, and providing educational opportunities for the local community.
Solutions:
Arnowa’s solution includes deploying a network of 100 electrical meters across 11 sites, delivering real-time data on 30 parameters, including 10 power quality indicators. Additionally, the project integrates a LoRa network for water metering and sensor monitoring. The city’s local government facilities will play a key role in engaging the community in Smart City initiatives, with real-time data displayed on web-based platforms and public on-site screens. This initiative will improve efficiency, cut utility costs, decrease emissions, maximize renewable energy generation, and further Smart City development.
Results:
Arnowa’s smart systems have initiated a Smart City movement, increasing data transparency and delivering immediate benefits beyond utility management. The infrastructure now extends across various data points, enhancing environmental and asset management. The project has successfully reduced electricity costs, achieved energy efficiency goals, and provided value aligned with the city’s strategic objectives.
